James Nelson Willis
March 11, 1949 to July 22, 2014

James Nelson "Jim" Willis, 65, of Anderson died July 22, 2014 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after an extended illness.

He was born March 11, 1949 in Anderson to Claude Orvis and Ione Marie (Bitner) Willis. As a child he attended Innisdale United Brethren Church.

He graduated from Alexandria High School and Ball State University with a masters of education. He was a school teacher for several years. He was an entrepreneur, owning his own gift store, the Lamplighter on 8th Street for 10 years. He also worked at Hoyt Wright and was the manager at Ford's Big & Tall Shop.

He was an art enthusiast and traveled to Paris several times. He was active in the Anderson Center for the Arts.

He is survived by his brother, Tom Willis, sister-in-law, Judith Willis (Tom) Danner; nephew, Matthew Cody (Laura ) Willis; great nephew, Josiah; several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenny.

Services will be at 4:30 P.M. on Friday, July 25, at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.

Visitation will be from 3 P.M. until the time of the service.

Memorial contributions may be given to Anderson Center for the Arts.
