Paul V. “Willie” Wilson, a resident of Salem, NH for the past 45 years passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 21, 2014 at Merrimack Valley Hospice House.
Born and educated in Boston, MA, Paul was a Korean War Veteran and served in the United States Army from 1953 – 1956. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Salem, NH. He worked in the lumber industry most of his life. Paul enjoyed many summers with his family at their cottage in Meredith, NH. He was a patriotic man who loved traveling the country with his wife to visit historical sites. Paul was a true family man, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, Catherine (Donovan) and Thomas Wilson and his siblings, Dorothy Duffy, Neil Wilson and Frank Wilson.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Mary E. (Corbett) Wilson of Salem, NH; his beloved daughters and sons: Elizabeth and William Hauser of Chelmsford, MA, Carol and Mark DeCarolis of Londonderry, NH, Susan Landry of Derry, NH, Paul Wilson and Rhonda Cassidy of Weare, NH and Robert and Rhonda Wilson of Hyannis, MA;
Eight loving grandchildren: Jessica Hauser, William Hauser, Eric Hauser, Anthony DeCarolis, Emily DeCarolis, Samantha Landry, Ryan Landry, Joseph Wilson; one special great-grandson, Gavyn Wilson; sisters, Gertrude Martino of Chelmsford, MA and Mary Dichard of Pelham, NH and many sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews
Calling hours will be Thursday, July 24th from 4-8 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 AM at Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem, NH. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem.
