John Francis Zedon, age 80, passed away at the South Shore Hospital on Monday, July 21, 2014. John was survived by his wife of 55 years, Julia (Quinn) Zedon, his sister, Gladys, Zdon of Maspeth, NY, and his 2 brothers, Joseph Zdon of Woburn and Thomas Zdon and his wife Cathy of S. Weymouth. He also leaves 3 nieces, 2 nephews and the “Kid”.
John was born in Manchester, NH, grew up in Cambridge and has lived in S. Weymouth for 30 years. He was a Quality Control Engineer for Raytheon Company in Waltham for many years and was a member of the Saint Francis Xavier Knights of Columbus in S. Weymouth. He served his country in the Army during the Korean Era.
The Funeral will be from the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Thursday, July 24 at 8:30 AM followed by the Funeral Mass at Saint Albert the Great Church, 1140 Washington St. E. Weymouth at 9:30 AM. Visiting Hours will be on Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery on Thursday at 12:30 PM.
