Obituary

Linda Carol Davis-Smith, died July 18, 2014.

“Ain’t no mountain high enough to keep me from you.”
Mother, friend, leader and example to many. A kind soul, Heaven sent. Linda was an intelligent woman of strength, generosity and kindness who provided for and sacrificed for three children.
Beautiful inside and out, Linda was known for her generosity, her strong work-ethic, dedication to her family and her lasting impression on others. She defined dedication in anything she did and was well respected by her coworkers. A classy woman with confidence and self-respect who took pride in her reliability to others.
Linda grew up in Boston and attended The Boston Trade School for Girls but moved to Hopkinton, MA in her senior year. Her yearbook described her with a quote, “Her ready wit, her cheery smile, proclaimed to all a friend worthwhile.”
Graduate of Hopkinton High School in 1969 Linda joined the New England Telephone Company where she worked her way up the corporate ladder through the company’s many name changes (now Verizon) eventually managing a deaf relay center and becoming skilled at American Sign Language. Linda gave 34 years of loyalty to Verizon in a variety of capacities.
Linda’s hobbies included singing and dancing to the music of Whitney Houston, Earth Wind and Fire and Motown classics by Marvin Gaye. She would often have her headphones on listening to her music while at her Franklin home doing housework or outside doing yard work. Linda also enjoyed time with family, bowling with her league at Ficco’s, women’s softball, framing pictures, watching western and action movies with a special admiration for Denzel Washington. Linda had a great joy in hosting the holiday meals. Those close to Linda know that most pictures where she was happiest were taken in her kitchen.
Linda, 63 passed peacefully at home surrounded by her three children Jessica Manseau, her husband Jeffrey Manseau of Charlotte NC, Jamie Smith of Manchester, NH, William Smith III of Charlotte, NC and both grand-doggies Jazzy and Juno. Linda had been at the end of her journey with Alzheimer’s disease. Linda is survived by siblings Joyce Suba, of Navvare Florida, Kevin W. Davis of Hopkinton, MA, Ronald Davis of Woonsocket, RI and Michael Davis of Hopkinton, MA.
