Charlton/Needham
Shirley M. (Power) Grieve, 90, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014 at the Overlook Masonic Community in Charlton.
She leaves her husband of 57 years, Robert W. Grieve, a son, Douglas R. Grieve and his wife Johanna of Bow, New Hampshire and a grand-daughter, Audrey Grieve of Atlanta, GA.
She was predeceased by two sisters; Evelyn Kitzmiller and Priscilla Power.
Shirley was born and raised in Needham, a daughter of Francis and Ethel (Eldridge) Power and graduated from Needham High School in 1941. She worked as a dental assistant and then worked as an operator for Bell Telephone in Needham.
During WWII she was a volunteer for the Red Cross as a nurses’ aide, she was a caregiver, enjoyed helping others, and also enjoyed doing hand crafts.
She and her husband travelled around the states in their motor home and also travelled to Hawaii, Great Britain, the Bahamas and the Virgin Islands. After they retired Bob and Shirley moved to Croydon, New Hampshire and then settled in Charlton in 2006.
A Graveside Service will be Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 11 AM at Meadow View Cemetery in Amherst, N.H.
A Memorial Service for Shirley will be Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 11 AM in the James C. Nicholl, Jr. Chapel at the Overlook Community, 88 Masonic Home Rd., in Charlton.
There are No Calling Hours.
