Thomas C. Ligon, 77, of Hull formerly of Wayland died on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at his residence.
He was born in Farmville, VA on August 7, 1936 the son of the late Thomas C. Ligon, Sr. and Isabel (Allen) Ligon.
He is survived by his wife Marian B. (Handelman) Bressel of Hull formerly of Wayland. Father of David A. Ligon of San Francisco, CA; Laura A. Jumani and her husband David Jumani of Laguna Beach, CA and the late Lisa J. Ligon who died in 2013. Stepfather of Ben J. Bressel and his wife Alana Bressel of Brighton. Grandfather of Siena and Elle Jumani of Laguna Beach, CA and step-grandfather of Akiva, Asher, Elisheva and Shoshana Bressel all of Brighton. Brother of the late K. Anne Ligon-Lewis.
Thomas spent his formative years in Pamplin, VA and graduated with a BSEE from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He had been a resident of Wayland for over 30 years and recently moved to Hull. He had a long and successful career with Raytheon and retired as a corporate vice-president. He loved hiking and skiing and time spent with his family. He served as the state coordinator for volunteers with the AARP Tax Aid program in Massachusetts.
Visitations will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
His family requests that no flowers be sent and that donations in Thomas’s memory may be sent to the Appalachian Mountain Club, 5 Joy Street, Boston, MA 02108 and would be greatly appreciated.
