José P. Almeida, age 75 of Fall River, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston. Born in Ribeira Chã, São Miguel, Açores, he was the husband of the late Maria C. (Craveiro) Almeida. and the son of the late Manuel P. and Elvira (Pereira) Almeida. Prior to retiring, José worked as a Machine Operator for Reflect Lighting of Fall River, and he was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church.
He is survived by his children, Americo Almeida of Somerset and Joanne Martins of Fall River; sisters: Maria Jose Pereira and Fernanda Pereira, both of São Miguel, Açores: 5 grandchildren: 1 great grandchild: and several nieces & nephews.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on SATURDAY at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours FRIDAY from 4-8 P.M. www.rogersfuneral.com.
