LEICESTER: Albert H. Hesselton, 65, of Clark Street in the Rochdale section of Leicester, passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 15, surrounded by his loving family.
He leaves his wife of 44 years, Nancy J. (Wood); his daughter, Tracy Hesselton of Leicester, his son, Kevin Hesselton and his wife Amy of Leicester, his son, Jeffrey Hesselton of Worcester; his sister, Bette Gervais and her husband Robert of Leicester, his brother Mark of Rochdale, his grand-children Tyler and Kyle Hesselton and Tom and Grace Guinee, all of Leicester, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hesselton was born in Worcester, moving to Leicester at a young age, where he, along with his wife Nancy, raised their family together. In his youth, Al was known for his love of motorcycles and cars. Later, his passion for electronics led him to a long and distinguished career at The Heald Machine Company. He later opened his own highly successful industrial electronics company, as well as worked for MRSE.
An avid family-oriented man, Al enjoyed devoting all of his free time to raising his children. He also continued with his passion for cars later on in his life – especially known for his ’55 Chevrolet. His greatest joy later in life, however, was spending time with his four grand-children. Al was a life-long member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Leicester.
Mr. Hesselton will always be remembered for his wit, sense of humor, his ability to fix anything, and his love and devotion to his family.
The funeral will be held Saturday, July 19 from MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 759 Main Street, Leicester. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Leicester with a gathering immediately following at 126 White Birch St., Leicester.
