Charles “Buddy” Grady Goins, 68, of Ty Ty died Monday, July 14, 2014, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2014, at the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty. Rev. Jim Duggan and Rev. Chad Hall will officiate with burial to follow in the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty Cemetery. David Davis, Robert Sledge, Robert Gann, Bob Bobbitt, Ron Hooks and Joe Eubanks will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mr. Goins will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Goins was born on October 20, 1945 in Berrien County and was the son of E. J. “Dick” Goins and Ora Akins Goins, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Jackie Lee Goins, who died in 2010. He was retired from Tifton Aluminum Company and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty. He was a past member of the Tifton Bowling Association and served in the United States Air Force.
Mr. Goins is survived by his wife, Betty Jeanette Murray Goins of Ty Ty; two sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck and Amy Goins and Jeff and Sabrina Goins, all of Ty Ty; a sister-in-law, Barbara Goins of Ty Ty; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Courtney Harper, Christopher and Sarah Harper, Ali Goins, Jacob Goins, Madison Robinson, Bubby Robinson and Hayden Goins; and two great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Patrick and Maecyn Harper.
