GLOUCESTER: Garrin T. “Gabba” Orlando, 44, died unexpectedly Friday, July 11, 2014 at his home.
Born in Gloucester on April 8, 1970, he was the son of the late Alerio F. and Sandra J. (Aiello) Orlando. He was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and a graduate of Gloucester High School class of 1988.
Garrin was employed as a supervisor at Shirt’s Illustrated in Salem for several years. He had also once owned and operated a family cleaning company, Service Master for many years. He was an inspiring writer, who enjoyed art and sketching. He was also an avid sports fan, often sharing stats with his friends. Garrin loved to go out to breakfast at Two Sisters Coffee Shop and became very close with the owners there. He could often be seen walking around town in his favorite hand sewn patchwork pants.
He is survived by his loving sister, Carrie A. Jerome; his nephew and godchild, Jesse Orlando Jerome; his niece, Abbey Rose Jerome; three uncles, Johnny Orlando, Joseph Aiello and his wife, Deborah and Frank Aiello and his wife, Donna; an aunt, Sarah Frontiero and her husband John; godson, James Curcuru and many dear friends, including, Steven Jerome, John Pata, Nikki Leavitt and Jimmy Curcuru.
His funeral service will be held on Friday in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 – 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the family, c/o Carrie Jerome, 186 East Main Street, Gloucester, MA 01930. Interment will be held in Beechbrook Cemetery, W. Gloucester.
