LAWRENCE: Attorney Kenneth F. Witham, age 65, a Lawrence resident, formerly of Tewksbury, passed away at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading on Friday, July 11, 2014.
Born in Cambridge on August 28, 1948, he was the son of the late Joseph G. Witham and the late Rita M. (Dooling) Witham.
Ken was raised in Tewksbury and graduated from the former Keith Academy in Lowell.
Following high school, he attended and graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester and Suffolk Law School.
In 1970, he entered the military and served for four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Prior to his illness, he worked at the Lawrence District Court for over 30 years.
Ken loved life to the fullest. He enjoyed following New England sports teams, playing golf, was a lover of fine cigars and even appreciated the cheap ones.
Survivors include three brothers, Michael Witham of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, Stephen Witham of Tewksbury, and Richard Witham of Palm Coast, FL; one sister, Patricia Bryant of E. Wakefield, NH; also many nieces, nephews and friends at the Lawrence District Court House.
Graveside services will be held Friday, July 18, at 11 a.m., at Tewksbury Cemetery, 172 East St., Tewksbury. Donations in Ken's memory may be made to the Sawtelle Hospice House, 320 Haverhill St., Reading, MA 01867. Arrangements entrusted to Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, Tewksbury.
