Spencer, MA - John A. Fowler, 84, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at Saint Vincent Hospital with his family by his side. He leaves his wife, Martha (Avery) Fowler; two daughters, Nancy Ann and her husband Brian C. McGann of Brimfield and Ann Marie and her husband Stephen B. Lougie of Hubbardston; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother and three sisters. He was born in Worcester, son of S. Ethel (Cutting) and Walter Fowler. John was a U.S. Army Combat Veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the Worcester Regional Transit Authority, where he was a bus driver for over 25 years. He was a 32nd degree Mason of the Morningstar Lodge and a volunteer fireman for the Town of Spencer for many years.
A private funeral service will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter, 111 Young Rd., E. Brookfield, MA 01515 or online at:
