Edward J. "Eddie" Fitzgerald, a 5 year resident of Shirley and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at his home in Shirley. He was 43 years old.
Eddie was born in Boston on February 26, 1971, a son of Thomas J. Fitzgerald and Arlene M. Devine. Eddie grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1989. Eddie has been working as a carpenter for many years and was a proud member of the Carpenters Union Local # 40 and also a proud member of the Medford Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 1012.
Eddie is the everlasting soul mate, best friend and the love of his life to Deb (Doherty) Taylor. He is the beloved son of Thomas J. Fitzgerald of Shirley, and Arlene Devine of Arlington. He is the devoted brother of Thomas Fitzgerald of Houston, Texas, Robert Fitzgerald of Somerville, Kelly Adams of Woburn and Darlene Burke of Salem. He is the father of Ashley, Mattie and Courtney Fitzgerald. He is the Grandfather of Kayla and Shawn Woodin. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Eddie's visiting hours on Sunday, July 13, 2014 from 2 to 6 P.M. followed by his Funeral Service at 6 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. His burial will be private.
