Margaret Dean Kinne, 95, formerly of Water Valley, MS died Wednesday, July 9, 2014. She was born September 7, 1918 in Osawatomie, KS to the late Percy St. Clair Clara Fay Thompson Spaulding. She was the secretary at Water Valley, MS School District, was secretary to the Mayor of Water Valley and then served as Executive Director of the Federal Housing Authority in Water Valley until her retirement. She left Water Valley to reside with her daughter, Betty McQueary, in Durham/Waxhaw, North Caroline for ten years prior to moving to Cabot, AR to live with her daughter, Bonne Jensen. Margaret enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She played at First Methodist Church and Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church in Water Valley as well as requested music for weddings and funerals. Margaret loved people and always sought to serve others in care giving. She had a generous spirit, always thinking of others and praying for her family without ceasing. She is preceded in death by her husband, Merle E. Kinne; her son, Robert M. Kinne; her sister, Bette Wiltse; her brother, Granville Spaulding and her parents, Percy St. Clair and Clara Fay Spaulding.
A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 12, 2014 in the chapel of Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home, Cabot, AR with Rev. Dick Avey officiating. The celebration will continue at 2:00 pm on Monday, July 14, 2014 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS with burial in Pine Crest Memorial Gardens.
Margaret is survived by her son, Bill Kinne (Lee Ann) of Birmingham, AL; three daughters, Bette McQueary (Vernon) of Waxhaw, NC, Bonne Jenson of Cabot, AR and Brenda Hunter (Frank) of Charlotte, NC. In addition to five children, Margaret had 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren. She was deeply loved and will be missed by the large legacy of family left behind.
