Robert M. Hood, 87, of Berlin, passed away on Sunday July 6, 2014 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. He was born in Berlin on February 24, 1927 the son of Ray and Clara (Roy) Hood and was a lifelong resident. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War and had been employed by Brown Company, James River and Crown Vantage, retiring in 1998 after 46 years of employment. He had been a member of St. Kieran Church, now Good Shepherd Parish.
Family includes a daughter Sue Valliere and husband Barney of Gorham, NH; sons Bin Hood and wife Patty of Berlin and Donnie Hood of Berlin; grandchildren Erik Hood, Kelly Hood, Bryan Hood and Megan Hood; sister Claire Thomas of Berlin and brother Rudy Hood of Berlin; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Joan (Croteau) Hood and his daughter-in-law Nancy Hood.
Funeral Services will be held at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Thursday July 10, 2014 at 10 AM. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 9 to 10 AM, prior to the service. Interment will follow at St. Kieran Cemetery.
