Marshfield – Jeffrey Robert Reck, “Zippy”, 59, passed away July 3, 2014, at home surrounded by his loving wife, his dog Oliver, 4 cats, family and close friends, after a long illness. He was born on July 11, 1954 in West Covina, California, the youngest son of the late Robert L. and Kathleen R. (Good) Reck. After leaving California, Jeff lived in Minnesota before settling in Marshfield with his family.
Jeff graduated from Marshfield High School, Class of 1973. Surviving in addition to his wife and best friend, Regina Paquette, are his sister Susan Reck and her husband Robert Linton of Duxbury, and his brother Terry Reck and his wife Caroline of Penn Valley, California. He also leaves behind his stepchildren Katie Lloyd (Baronas) and her husband Michael of East Bridgewater, Pamela Souza of Marshfield, and Philip Souza of Marshfield. He was the proud Papa of Natalie and Aubrey Frasca. Jeff also leaves behind many close friends and relatives.
Jeff was the original “dog whisperer”. He was beloved by all who knew him and he collected friends like you would collect seashells. Whether cheating at dice, tending his garden, spending time with his family, or making his famous Zucchini relish, he did it with gusto.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street, Marshfield and a Funeral Service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, July 11, on what would have been Jeff’s 60th birthday, at Saint Christine’s Church, 1295 Main Street, Marshfield.
