Obituary

WORCESTER: Louise May (Kelley) Dillard, 84, of 244 Belmont St., died Friday, November 12, 2004, at UMass Memorial Healthcare - Memorial Campus, 119 Belmont St., after a short illness.
Her husband Ervin Dillard, predeceased her. She was previously married to Chestley I. Crump, who predeceased her. Her first husband, Carroll W. Smith, also predeceased her.
She leaves a son, Clifford W. Smith of Worcester; three daughters, Jennifer M. Stewart of Savannah, GA, Janice C. Parker of Durham, NC, Christine F. Jean of Boston; two sisters, Harriet Porter and Edith Barker, both of Boston; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her Goddaughter JO JO.
A son, Thornton "Butch" Crump, a daughter, Patricia Ann Dardy, two brothers, Harry Kelley and Alonzo Kelley, Jr., three sisters, Josephine Bowers, Artibelle Plummer, Mabel Alston, and a granddaughter, Cheryl Smith, all predeceased her. She was born in Worcester a daughter of the late Alonzo C. and Edith A. (Stanley) Kelley and graduated from Commerce High School. She lived in Boston for many years before returning here in 1999.
Louise worked several years as an elevator operator at the old Filene's Department Store. She had also been a foster grandparent for many years in Roxbury and a former director at the senior citizen drop-in center in Jamaica Plain. She had a kind heart, a good sense of humor and was known for speaking her mind.
A CALLING HOUR will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St., followed by a FUNERAL SERVICE at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. After cremation, burial will be in Hope Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family suggests donations in Louise's memory be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 2680, North Canton, OH 44720.
