Peter B. Alward, 68 of Fayetteville North Carolina, died Sunday, June 22, 2014 at his residence following a period of declining health.
He was born in Manchester, on February 24, 1946 and was the son of Bertram and Lorretta (Brown) Alward. He resided in Manchester for most of his life until his retirement. He then moved to North Carolina.
He worked for the Manchester Postal service for over twenty years. He loved to travel and was an avid coin collector and a collector of Civil War Military artifacts.
Peter enjoyed the time spent with his cat “Casey”.
Family members include his five sisters, June Edwards and her husband, Courtney of Manchester, Ann Richards and her husband, Edward of Bedford, Pamela Stone of Hooksett, Monica Alward of Natick, Ma, Katherine Gosselin and her husband Joseph of Epping, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers, John Alward and Charles Alward.
A Memorial service took place on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester. Reverend Gary Rolph Chief Chaplin of the Veterans Medical Center officiated. Burial followed in Pine Grove Cemetery 765 Brown Ave., Manchester, NH.
