Joyce A. Hunter, 88, of Mystic, died peacefully Monday, June 30, 2014, at Mystic Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Mystic.
She was born in Mystic, June 24, 1926, the daughter of Walter F. and Hazel (Patterson) Hunter.
Before retiring, Ms. Hunter worked as a laboratory technician at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed knitting, being known for gifting her creations to friends and family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her puzzles and watching game shows. She also enjoyed the community and companionship of the Noank Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sister Barbara Dart and brother Richard Polidoro, as well as her nieces and nephews Michael Spellman, Karen Fulton, Jane Hanley, Alice Hunter, Scott Hunter, John Polidoro Jr, Beth Schipper Polidoro, Cheryl Comeau and Jane Johnson.
In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her brothers Andrew Hunter and Abraham Spellman and sister Edyth Gillelan.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Graveside Service to be conducted on Monday, July 7th at 11:00am at Elm Grove Cemetery, Mystic. There are no visiting hours.
