FALL RIVER… Alice P. (Parent) Valiquette, 86, of Westport passed away, Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Southpointe Rehabilitation, surrounded by her family.
She was the wife of Jean P. Valiquette of Westport to whom she had been married for 57 years.
Born in New Bedford, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Malvina (St. John) Parent and had lived in Westport since 1972.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church in Westport and employed as a stitcher with the former Elco Dress.
Mrs. Valiquette enjoyed gardening, caring for her grandchildren, babysitting, and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her widower, a daughter Debra Marchand of Westport, 2 sisters: Mary Janak of Fairhaven and Beatrice Jasmin of South Dartmouth, 2 grandsons: Keith Marchand and Jeremy Marchand, several nieces and nephews. She was the sister-in-law of Mr. & Mrs. Larry Sylvia, Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Valiquette, Mr. & Mrs. Normand Valiquette, Mr. & Mrs. Leo Valiquette, Edmond Valiquette, and Rita Prevost. She was mother of the late Jean P. Valiquette and sister of the late Yvonne Arruda, Jeannette Roderigues, William, Leo, Arthur, Albert, and Ernest Parent.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Monday, July 7, 2014, at 11A.M. at Our Lady of Grace Church, Sanford Road, Westport. Calling hours will be Monday, July 7, 2014 at the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River from 8:30 – 10:30 A.M.
