Muriel L. (Norman) Winchester, 79, of Hudson, died on Sunday, June 29th at home surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Richard L. Winchester of Hudson.
Muriel was born in Biddeford, ME, daughter of the late Gustave and Medora (Cote) Norman. She was raised in Saco, ME where she attended local schools. She resided in Northboro for 20 plus years before moving to Hudson in 1991.
Muriel was very active in the Hudson community. She was a member of the Hudson Senior Center; member and former Secretary of the Hudson Historical Society; member of Hudson Woman’s Club; Red Hat Society and Board of Directors at the Meadowbrook Park Association. Muriel also looked forward to her annual partnership in the “Pen Pal Club”, a group of senior citizens sharing letters with first grade elementary student in Hudson. She was an avid Bingo player.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Richard J. Winchester of Marlboro; her sister, Madeline Lavigne of Saco, ME; her brother, Leon Normand Sr. and his wife Donna of Virginia Beach, VA; her three grandchildren, Michelle Landry and her husband Gregg of Hudson, James Winchester of Marlboro, Matthew Winchester of Marlboro and her three great grandchildren, Alex and Sophia Landry and Nicholas Winchester. She also leaves her two nieces, Peggy Ramos and Teresa Silva, both of Virginia Beach, VA along with her many other nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may attend a calling hours on Wednesday, July 2nd from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 followed by a funeral service and celebration of Muriel’s life at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2nd in the funeral home. Burial services will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson.
