Robert R. Kyle, 78, of Fitzgerald, died Saturday, June 28, 2014, at his residence.
Memorial services will be held at the family residence, 260 Prospect Church Road in Fitzgerald, at 9 AM, on Saturday, July 5, 2014. Rev. Dan Johnson will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service.
Mr. Kyle was born February 25, 1936, in Worthington, West Virginia, to the late Howard Ralph & Mable “Sally” Wise Kyle. He was a former machinist for Ingersoll-Rand and had lived in the community for 9 years, coming from Ohio. He loved buying and selling things, especially guns. He was an airplane pilot and enjoyed skydiving.
He is survived by his children and their spouses: Sally Wright of Fitzgerald, Clydia Lucas of South Carolina, Betty Lou & Bill Neuwirth, Robert R. Kyle, Jr. & Tari Croft, Martha Marie Kyle, Margie & Wayne Rose, Jimmy & Cindy McCafferty, and Johnny McCafferty, all of Ohio; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and four brothers: Keith & Betty Lou Kyle, Joe Paul & Pam Cruise, and Greg Cruise, all of Ohio and Jim & Dorothy Taylor of West Virginia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons: Kenny McCafferty and Ralph McCafferty; his step-father: Frank Cruise; three brothers: Lee Kyle, Dave Cruise, and Roger Cruise; and a sister: Joanne Kyle.
