J. D. “Jimmy” Williams went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 29, 2014. He was a WW II veteran, Ford retiree and member of Hillsdale Baptist Church. He loved fishing, gardening, dartball and working jigsaw puzzles. Jimmy was a deacon and sang in the church choir. He loved serving God and sharing his Christian love with others. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Doris. Left to celebrate a life well lived are his wife, Mary, his children, Brenda Sivado (Mark), Karen Blackford (Toby), Tommy Thomas (Judy), and Leon Thomas; his grandchildren, Jake (Jennifer), Laura (Pete), David, Jonathan, Tara (Brian), Josh (Tara Jo) and Nicole (Mike); seven great grandchildren; and sisters, Mina and Leona. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 -8 p.m. Tuesday and after 10 a.m. Wednesday. Our heartfelt thanks goes out to all the wonderful nurses and staff at Essex on the south wing. We will all miss him but he has left many memories to comfort us.
