Obituary


Alexander Andrew Radsky, 96, former resident of Berlin, passed away Saturday June 28, 2014, in Morrison Nursing Home in Whitefield. He was born in Augusta, ME on June 8, 1918, the son of Andrew and Maria (Nabosky) Radsky.

He graduated from Berlin High School, worked in CCC Camps, retired from the U.S. Navy after 23 years of serving his country with pride and integrity as a Master Chief Petty Officer. He was a devoted member of the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church in Berlin, dutifully serving as a starosta well into his 80’s. Mr. Radsky was an electronics instructor at the Berlin Vocational Tech where he was admired for his high academic standards and teaching abilities. He was also an avid Ham Radio operator and enthusiast with call sign KR1Z.

Mr. Radsky will be warmly remembered by his family as a man who gave tirelessly to his church, was an excellent provider, and was a quiet and gentle soul who loved all things electronic, and had a passion for computers.

Family members include his wife Helen (Tupick) Radsky, his daughter Donna Pallaria and husband Domenic of Lancaster, grandchildren Kelley Stafford and husband Robert of Stowe, VT and Molly Harrigan and husband Thomas of York, ME, great- grandchildren, Riley, Sarah, Rachel and Rose Stafford, Alex and Grady Harrigan, and generations of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday July 3, 2014 at 10:30 AM at the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church in Berlin. Interment will be held in Russian City Cemetery in Berlin. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., in Berlin on Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM.
