Engber, Louis, 94, of Revere, formerly of Chelsea, Loving husband of Hazel (Weiner) Engber died Friday June 28, at home surrounded by his family. Born in Chelsea to the late Lazer & Minnie (Zeutzer) Engber. Graduate of Chelsea High School. Continued his education at Boston University. Honorable discharged Veteran having served during World War II in the United States Army Air Corps. Was employed in the family textile business as bookkeeper & importer. Was inducted in the Chelsea High School Hall of Fame for football. In 1937 he was co-captain of the football team & led his team to victory over Everett High in the Thanksgiving Day game. He was a 65 year member of Mason Germania & member of the Temple Emmanuel of Chelsea Brotherhood. He also attended services at the Jack Satter House in Revere. In addition to his wife Louis is survived by his son Robert D. Engber of Revere, his brother Abraham Engber & his wife Irene of Melrose, & nieces Emmy LeBron, Lynne White both of Peabody, Michelle Engber of Melrose, Ellen Weiner of NJ, Holly Cuzzone of CT & nephews Joseph Litchman of RI & Jeffery Engber & his wife Cassandra of Ohio. He predeceased by a son Brandon Engber, sister Sarah Litchman, brother Fred Engber & niece Phyllis White. Graveside service will be held at Temple Emmanuel of Chelsea Cemetery, Buxton St., Danvers on Monday June 30 at 1:00 PM. Relatives & friends invited. Memorial observance will follow at the family home from 3to 7 PM, again Tuesday 3 to 7PM & Wednesday 3 to 7 PM.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Louis’s name to the charity of ones choice.
