Louis Luisi of Byfield died Saturday, June 21 in the Kindred Hospital North Shore in Peabody. Born and raised in the North End, he was the son of the late Paul and Carmela (Matarazzo) Luisi. Louis proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a brilliant pianist at the age of 13 and a talented artist.
Beloved husband of the late Adrienne (Comparetti) Luisi and devoted father of Adrienne Luisi-Gayton and her husband Jim of West Newbury, Annette Mercurio and her husband Stephen of Winchester. Loving grandfather of Jennifer Elmer and her husband Kyle of Norwood, Jessica Gayton, and Christopher Gayton who is currently serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Loving great grandfather of Maddox. Brother of twin Joseph Luisi, Marianne Pepicelli and her late husband Frank, all of the North End, Joanna Sarro and her late husband Richard of Medford, Paul Luisi Jr. of the North End, Martin Bueno of Washington, DC, and the late Robert, Anthony, and Bobby Luisi. Son-in-law of Nana Bruno. Brother-in-law of Karen Luisi of the North End, Stephen Bruno and his wife Donna of Marblehead, and Diane Bruno of Woburn. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Thursday, July 3rd at 8:45 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Leonard Church, Hanover St., Boston, at 9:45 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family on Wednesday from 4 through 8 pm.
