Manchester– Arthur J. Chouinard, 80, died June 25, 2014 at his residence following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Manchester on March 25, 1934 the son of Arthur A. and Frances (Stoklosa) Chouinard and had been a lifelong resident of this city.
He served his country in the US Air Force.
Prior to his retirement he was an electrical draftsman for Ingersoll Rand.
Members of his family include his wife of 55 years Irene (Hamel) Chouinard of Manchester, two sons, James A. Chouinard of Manchester, Wilfred (Bill) Chouinard and his wife Janine of Weare, two grandsons, Derek Chouinard and his wife Caitlin, Bryan Chouinard and his wife Stephanie both of Weare, one sister, Stella Richer and her husband Louis of Florida,one brother in law, Edward Chaput of Concord and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one sister, Fran Chaput.
There are no calling hours
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 AM in St. Anne-St. Augustin Church Beech St..
Burial will follow in New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen at 12 Noon.
In lieu of flowers masses may be said or donations may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association of Manchester & Southern NH 33 S. Commercial St. Suite 401, Manchester NH 03101, or to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis TN. 38105, or to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston MA. 02284.
