Al Davis, 53, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Fitzgerald with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 Friday evening at First Baptist Church.
Mr. Davis was born March 26, 1961 in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late Jack and Ednora Bryant Davis. He lived in the community all of his life and was a 1980 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. He was a kicker for the Purple Hurricane football team and was a pitcher for a little league championship team. He was owner and operator of A.D. Concrete and a farmer. Mr. Davis was a former employee of Fitzgerald Railcar, a crane operator for Fitzgerald Forestry Products and also a former employee of Dorminy Brothers. He enjoyed hobbies of hunting and fishing and was a horse barrel racer. He attended the Sportsmen Sunday school Class at First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children: Michella Toler of Fitzgerald; Savannah & Blake Flanagan of Ocilla and Ben Davis of Douglas; grandchildren: Conner Toler, Jake Flanagan and Kenzleigh Toler; a brother: Larry & Pam Davis of Fitzgerald; two sisters: Janice & O.J. Hutto of Fitzgerald and Wendy & Curtis Rickard of Fitzgerald; several nieces and nephews: Kristin & Ross Campbell, Josiah Hutto, Katie Rickard, Jana Hutto and Mariah Rickard and two great- nephews: Sawyer Campbell and Fenn Campbell.
