Lillian A. (Alves) Medeiros, 78, of New Bedford died November 14, 2004 at New England Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was the wife of Arthur A. Medeiros.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Gouviea) Alves, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
Mrs. Medeiros was a former communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
She was formerly employed in the cafeteria at New Bedford High School for several years until her retirement.
Mrs. Medeiros was a talented artist and her greatest joy was her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Arthur E. Medeiros, and his wife Lois, of Lakeville; a daughter, Janice M. Spooner, and her husband Carl of New Bedford; a sister, Gilbertha Fels of Dartmouth; three grandchildren, Amy Furtado, and her husband Scott, of Freetown, Erin Medeiros of Natick and Carl Spooner, Jr. of New Bedford.
She was the sister of the late John Alves, Edward Alves and Agnes Alves.
Her private Funeral Service will be held in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
