FRAMINGHAM: Carroll O. Kell, 82, died peacefully and comfortably surrounded by his loving and devoted family at his Framingham residence on Monday, June 23, 2014 following a period of declining health.
He was born in East Prairie, Missouri on November 18, 1931 the son of the late James Kell and Minnie (Whitlock) Kell.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Eleanor M. (Cole) Kell of Framingham. Devoted father of Cindy Sweeney and Dwight L. Kell both of Framingham. Cherished grandfather of Chris Kell of Framingham and Kimberly A. Lagasse of Wayland. Brother of Shirley Edelstein and her husband Milton of Carmel, New York.
Carroll has been a resident of Framingham for over 44 years and previously resided in Pembroke and East Prairie, Missouri. After graduating from high school, Carroll enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country proudly during the Korean War. He received his Associates Degree in Computer Science and for over 15 years, he was a computer programmer for Gulf Oil Co. located in Canton before retiring. He was an accomplished cook and chef and enjoyed all types of cooking especially preparing Italian dishes for family and friends. He loved to spend time outdoors and at his residence in Framingham. Carroll was a people person and loved to enter into conversations with people from all walks of life. He was devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren and treasured the time and memories they all had together. He will be fondly missed by his family and all those who knew him.
Visitations will be held on Friday, June 27, 2014 from 9:30 am until 10:30 am followed by his funeral services at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
Private family interment will be held at the convenience of his family.
In lieu of flowers his family suggests that memorial donations in Carroll’s memory may be sent to Edwards Church, 39 Edwards Street, Framingham, MA 01701 and would be greatly appreciated by his family.
