Obituary

LEICESTER – Doris M. (Comeau) Desautels, 83, of Edward St., died Saturday, June 21, 2014, in her home, the same day that her daughter Donna passed away in 2008. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Roger E. Desautels of Leicester; two sons, Gary R. Desautels of Leicester and Richard P. Desautels of Charlton; five grandchildren, one great grandchild, and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her daughter, Donna Marie Desautels who died in 2008; five brothers, Francis Louis, Joseph, Albert, and Leo Desautels; and two sisters, Marie Berube and Florence Soucy. She was born in Woonsocket, RI, the daughter of the late Louis Z. and Marie A. (Gagne) Comeau.

Mrs. Comeau worked at the Hebert Candy Mansion for 13 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of North American Martyrs Church in Auburn. She loved camping, traveling with her husband in their travel trailer, and enjoyed her time in the knitting club.

A funeral will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2014, from Alfred Roy and Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond St., Worcester, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn. Burial will be private at a later date at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Leicester. Calling hours are Wednesday, June 25, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/The Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, Brookline, MA 02445.
