Obituary

Eugene E. “Johnny” Gramolini, 94, died Saturday evening at home. He was the loving husband of the late Eleanor G. (Carroll) Gramolini.
Born in Winchendon, Massachusetts he was a son of the late Primo and Zaide (Caselli) Gramolini. He was raised in Woonsocket and resided in North Smithfield for over 55 years.
Mr. Gramolini served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
He learned the printing trade as a young many. Later on he became the founder and proprietor of the former Leo’s Bakery on Mason St. in Woonsocket for many years. He also was the owner of the Lil’ General store in Millville.
Johnny was a longtime member of the Pawtucket Country Club where he enjoyed golfing, playing cards and the camaraderie of the many friends he made there. He was an avid sports fan and also had been a member of the Krikbrae Country Club, the New England Bakers Assoc. and was named Man of the Year.
He was the brother of the late Aldo, Romeo and Levio Gramolini and is survived by many nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farm St. Blackstone. Visiting hours are Wednesday morning from 10-11 am prior to services.
