Marilyn "Honey" Helfrich, 82, of Ledyard died Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Fairview. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Eugene and Ethel (Deery) Maguire.
She was united in marriage on October 7, 1951 in Queens, NY to Lawrence Helfrich, who survives her. She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
In addition to her husband of 62 years of marriage, she is survived by the three daughters, Kathleen Helfrich, Beth Helfrich and Marilyn O'Connor, and two sons, Lawrence J. Helfrich and Eugene Helfrich. She is also survived by her sister, Adrienne Humphrey and her brother Martin Maguire and six grandchildren, Carolyn Helfrich Smith, Christine Helfrich VanDonge, William Helfrich, Tyler Tenney Helfrich, Rose O'Connor and Finian O'Connor.
Her family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic. The funeral will assemble at the funeral home on Friday at 9am and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Patrick Church, Mystic. Interment will be private for the family.
