Marilyn Ann Faxon, 79, of Hampstead, NH, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 21, 2014 in Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH following an extended illness in her later years. She was born on February 26, 1935 in Portland, ME, a daughter of the late James McElwee and Doris (Lowell) Eveleth. She was a graduate of Newburyport High School, Newburyport, MA, Class of 1953. Marilyn was a talented artist who enjoyed painting. She was a member of Calvary Bible Church in Derry prior to her illness, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Marilyn was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and took great strength from her Christian faith.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Norman P. Faxon, two sons, Paul T. Faxon and David W. Faxon; two daughters, Diane Faxon Grover and Bonnie Faxon McGrath; as well as six grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas McElwee.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 23rd at 11:00am in Calvary Bible Church, Hampstead Rd., Derry. The family received friends at the church from 10:30am until the start of the service. Private burial will be in West Hampstead Cemetery, Hampstead.
