New Bedford – Maria Albertina Ferreira (Vo Tina) 88 of South Dartmouth died Thursday June 19, 2014 after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Jose S. Ferreira.
Born in Faial, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Jose Machado Fagundes and Luisa (Adelaide) Fagundes. She She was devoted to her family and will always be remembered as a kind, loving, giving person with a wonderful sense of humor.
She is survived by 4 children: Emily Pinheiro husband John of South Dartmouth, Maria Helena Branco husband John of New Bedford, Rosemary Rebello husband Victor of South Dartmouth, Joseph C. Ferreira of New Bedford and a sister Emilia Fagundes of South Dartmouth; 7 grandchildren: Victor C Pinheiro wife Maria, Melissa Branco, Robyn Branco, Adam Rebello wife Christina, Abigail Rebello, Laureyn Ferreira and Samuel Ferreira; 5 great-grandchildren: Victoria Pinheiro, Mia Pinheiro, Liam Branco Fournier, Grace Rebello and Charlotte Rebello. She was predeceased by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Her funeral will be Monday, June 23 beginning in the funeral home at 8:45 A.M. and continuing with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church in Dartmouth at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will take place in the funeral home on Sunday from 3 – 6 P.M. Relatives and friends are welcomed to attend.
