Edwin F. Howe Sr., 83, of Hudson, died on Thursday, June 18th at The Reservoir Center in Marlboro. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Phyllis A. (Maude) Howe of Hudson.
Edwin was born and raised in Marlboro, son of the late Irving and Alice (Benjamin) Howe. He attended local schools and was a 1948 graduate of Marlboro High School. He served in the Massachusetts National Guard, Motor Company out of Hudson. He worked as a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service in Marlboro for 32 years until his retirement.
Edwin enjoyed tending to his garden at his home in his spare time. He especially cherished the times he shared with his family. He will be truly missed and always remembered by them all.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Robert E. Howe and his wife Patricia of Fitchburg and was predeceased by his son, Edwin F. Howe Jr. in 1999. He is also survived by his two sisters, Betty Sobat of Florida, Ann Howe of Rhode Island; his four loving grandchildren; two great grandchildren along with his nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 23rd at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Saturday, June 21st from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
