WAYLAND: David Nicholas Fay, 73, died peacefully and comfortably surrounded by his family on June 12, 2014 following a period of declining health.
He was born in Boston on November 27, 1940 the son of the late Cyril Joseph Fay and Margaret (McDonald) Fay.
He is survived by his loving children and grandchildren; Leah Fay George and her husband Bradley and their children, Bella and Cruz George all of Sudbury; David Nicholas Fay, Jr. and his wife Laurie Ann and their son Jack Fay of Huntersville, NC and Christopher David Fay and his wife Annette and their children, Abigail and Ashlee Fay all of Nashua, NH. Brother of Peggy Fay Magee and her husband Tom of Wilmington. Brother-in-law of Carol Fay of Newton. Also survived by his former wife Patricia Leone Fay of Wayland.
David spent his formative years in Brookline and Newton and has been a longtime resident of Wayland. He began his career as a driver with G & S Paper Co. and retired after many dedicated years as a driver for Boston Coach Livery Service.
The greatest joy in his life was the time spent with his family especially all the wonderful memories he enjoyed with his grandchildren who he was devoted to. He loved to be at the ocean shore on the Cape or in Maine but delighted in his visits to Castle Island in Boston. He will be remembered fondly by his family and friends for his great wit and love of life.
Visitations will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland,
Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Monday, June 23, 2014 at 9:00 am followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Anselm Church, 100 Landham Road, Sudbury.
Interment will follow in Newton Cemetery in Newton.
