Joseph Arsenault of Medford, formerly of Somerville, died Monday, June 16 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Joseph and Irene (Spencer) Arsenault.
After serving in the Navy, Joseph worked as a truck driver for Somerville Lumber and a limousine driver for Commonwealth Limo. He was a light to middleweight boxer in Lynn known as "Irish Joe" who later became a trainer and volunteer at the Somerville Boxing Club.
Joseph was the beloved husband of Annmarie G. (Buccieri) Arsenault, and devoted father of Lisa Baker and her companion Joseph Riley, all of Medford. He was the loving grandfather of Joseph Baker of Medford. Brother of Frank Arsenault and his companion Susan Levesque of Somerville, and the late Dolly Arsenault. Joseph was the uncle of Joseph Pepicelli and his wife Monica, William Pepicelli and his wife Mary, Maria Garofalo and her husband Anthony, and is also survived by many additional loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Friday, June 20 at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
