Arthur M. Dupre, a long time resident of Hungry Hill, Springfield, age 75, passed away on June 16, 2014 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born on Sept. 19, 1938, a son of the late Willie and Jeanne (Desjardins) Dupre. Arthur served in the US Airforce during the Vietnam War. He worked at Moore Drop Forge for 24 years and also as a custodian for Agawam High School for 16 years before he retired in 2004. He was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Hope Church. He was a member of the American Legion Post 452. Arthur loved to play pool, golf, bowl, play guitar and entertain family and friends. He was a Community and military volunteer and loved to volunteer at Shriner’s Hospital for Children. He played for the Relics Softball League and was also a baseball coach for many organizations. He leaves his loving wife Nancy M. (Combs) Dupre of Springfield, whom he married 53 years ago in Sacramento, CA; 3 sons, Daniel Dupre and his wife Roseleen of Chicopee, William Dupre and his wife Susan of Northborough, MA and Arnold Dupre and his wife Tracy of East Longmeadow; 2 daughters, Lisa Hill and her husband Dan of Chicopee and Miriam Soldo and her husband Ryan of Shrewsbury; 4 brothers, Charles Dupre of Agawam, Paul Dupre of Barre, VT, Roger Dupre of Long Island, NY and Roland Dupre of Underhill, VT; 1 sister Rita St Onge of Enosburg Falls, VT; 12 grandchildren, Benjamin, Hannah, Matthew, Madison, Megan, Nicole, Samantha, William, Bryan, Nicholas, Michael and Brady; 2 great grandchildren, Ayla and Ethan along with many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his beloved dog Pedy. He is predeceased by his sister Alice Deuso. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee.
