Theresa I. (Lamoureux) Asselin, age 82, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Baystate Medical Center. She was born in Springfield on June 25, 1931, a daughter of the late Arthur and Rose (Bernache) Lamoureux. Theresa worked as a film cutter for 3M for 15 years before she retired. She was a communicant of St Patrick’s Church. She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed playing Bingo and card games. She is predeceased by her husband Normand Asselin who passed away in 1977 and also by her son Normand Asselin Jr., who passed away in 2008. She leaves her daughters Suzanne Lambert and her husband Gilles of Westfield and Charlene Valley and her husband James of Enfield, CT; a daughter-in-law Roxanne Asselin of Chicopee; 1 sister, Lola Chaffee of Longmeadow; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by 12 siblings. She resided at Landmark at Monastery Heights for the past 5 years and leaves many friends there. The family would like to thank the staff for all of the special care they had given her during her stay. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Wed, June 18, 2014 from10:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by a Mass of Christian burial in Assumption Church at 12 Noon.
