Jerry William Hobbs, Jr., 55, of Tifton died Sunday, June 15, 2014, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Roger Tucker will officiate with burial to follow at Tift Memorial Gardens with Masonic Rites. Bert Connell, John Henderson III, Charles Courson, Fate Miller, Brett Beery and Joseph Sawyer will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Tifton Masonic Lodge #47. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Hobbs was born on October 12, 1958 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky and was the son of Jerry William Hobbs, Sr. and Doretha Skaggs Hobbs, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Eddie Kenneth Williams. He graduated from Moultrie Tech and was employed with Werner Enterprises and formerly as a draftsman at Master Craft. He was a member of the Tifton Council #58, the Coastal Plain Commandry #42, a Shriner at the Hasan Temple in Albany, a member of Scottish Rite in Albany, the Tifton Masonic Lodge #47, the Tifton Chapter #47 and the Tift Area Daylight Lodge #745.
Mr. Hobbs is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy William and Laura Hobbs of Tifton.
