Obituary

Bernadette (Ameen) Ganem, 94, of Manchester died June 13, 2014 at a local health care facility after a period of declining health.
She was born in Manchester, NH on May 14, 1920, the daughter of Mary Mansour and Mahmoud Ameen. She attended Franklin Street Grammar School and Central High School.
Bernadette had worked at Dorson-Fleisher Shoe Company for many years prior to retirement. She married John Joseph Ganem in 1942.
She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and sister who will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the staff at Villa Crest Nursing Home for the wonderful care Bernadette received over the past few months.
She was predeceased by her husband John Ganem on June 1, 1988.
Family members include two children, Kathleen Ganem Hoffman of Long Beach, CA, and William Ganem of Manchester; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She also leaves a sister and best friend, Anna DeSchuiteneer of Manchester and was predeceased by three siblings: Alice Peters, Evelyn Pelletier and Fred Ameen. She also leaves many nephews, nieces and cousins.

A funeral service was held on Friday, June 20, 2014 in Our Lady of the Cedars Church, Mitchell St. Committal prayers and burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
