Obituary

Georgios Voyiatzis, 78, of Worcester died Friday, June 13th in UMass Hospital-University Campus. He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Konstantina (Vasiliadis) Voyiatzis; his son, Dimitrios Voyiatzis of Worcester; two daughters, Chrisanthy Pirperis and her husband, Christos of Milford and Rodi Pirperis of Worcester; two brothers, Iordanis Voyiatzis of Worcester and Theodosios Voyiatzis of Holden; four grandchildren, Dimitra, Konstantina, Athanasios and Vaeea; and two great-grandchildren, Persephone and Vasilios.
He was born in Hrisohrafa, Greece the son of Dimitrios and Chrisanthy (Alexiadis) Voyiatzis and 1973 immigrated to Worcester. Mr. Voyiatzis had owned and operated George’s Pizza for many years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral and Alexander the Great Union-Hrisohrafiton.
His funeral is Tuesday, June 17th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a service at 11:00 a.m. in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Calling hours are Monday, June 16th from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
