Obituary

TAUNTON – William A. Galleshaw, husband of the late Catherine F. (McLean) Galleshaw, died at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro on June 2, 2014.
He was 95.
Born in New York, NY, he was the son of the late William and Irene M. (Bishop) Galleshaw.
At the age of eight, he moved with his family to Rhode Island, where he lived for many years and graduated from Central High School in Providence.
An Army Veteran of WW II, he moved to the Taunton area in 1970 and resided in Raynham for many years.
Employed as a meteorologist by the federal government, Mr. Galleshaw was stationed at T.F Green Airport in Rhode Island.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #105.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Kathleen Smith of New Bedford; three grandchildren, Serena Galleshaw of Berwick, ME, Kelly Dean of Westport and Michael Farrell of Westport; and two great grandchildren, Grant and Chapin Dean, both of Westport.
He was also the father of the late Rebecca Galleshaw and the stepfather of the late Leonard Farrell.
Private graveside services were held at the Massachusetts National VA Cemetery, in Bourne.
