James Austin Armstrong

James Austin Armstrong, 70, of Anderson died at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital on June 11, 2014 after an extended illness.

He was born August 7, 1943 in Anderson to Bill and Martha (Gwinn) Armstrong.

He was a senior engineer for Guide Lamp division of General Motors 39 years before retiring in 2001 and was owner of PC Solutions for the last 15 years.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 49 years, Jamalee (Crowe) Armstrong of Anderson whom he married July 31, 1965 in Muncie; his daughter, Amy Walters of Anderson; granddaughter BreAnne Walters; grandson, Brody Walters (Kristen Horsley) and great grandson, Parker Walters.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Central Christian Church with Pastor Rick Vale officiating, with a Celebration of Life at the Chesterfield American Legion Post 408 following the service.

Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service handled the arrangements.

Memorial Contributions may be given to Madison County Humane Society.

The Armstrong family would like to thank Dr. David Mares and the critical care nurse, Leora of St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital for their loving care of James during his illness.
