Helen M. (Spillane) Dore, 91, of North Ft. Myers, Florida, formerly of Dartmouth Mass, and a former long time resident of Chicopee , MA passed away on Tuesday, June 10. 2014. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Elizabeth (Noonan) Spillane; her sister Rita and her husband Arthur Sattler from Southampton, Mass; her sister Betty and her husband Arthur Chandler from Westfield, and her granddaughter Kim Ann Loveday from Englewood, Tenn.
She leaves her beloved companion of 25 years Douglas Rock; two sons Wayne Dore of Hadley, and Mark Dore and his wife Ann of Shelburne Falls, MA; three daughters Sandra Farrar and her husband Chet, Pamela Nading and her husband Gary of Murphy, TX; and Joanne Hickey and her husband Glenn Esquivel of Las Vegas; two nephews Arthur Sattler and his wife Lani; and David Sattler and his wife Darlene; 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter. She was a 1940 graduate of Chicopee High School, and later worked as a secretary at the Sacony Vacuum Oil Company during World War II, and then was a golf ball machine operator at A.G. Spalding until she retired. She enjoyed playing golf, bowling, dancing, and doing crossword puzzles. She was also an avid fan of the Red Sox, Celtics, and Patriots. Helen was a breast cancer survivor of 18 years. A Funeral Service will be held on Fri June 20, 2014 at 9:00 AM from the Grise Funeral Home 280 Springfield St. Chicopee with a Funeral Home Prayer Service to begin at 10:00 Am. Burial will follow at St Rose de Lima Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held on Thurs June 19, 2014 from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Susan G.
