Lenora Montine Richey, 71, of Rochelle, Georgia, died Thursday, June 12, 2014 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Monday, June 16, 2014, at Salem Baptist Church in Ben Hill County with the Rev. Brent Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends, Sunday afternoon, from 3 PM to 5 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Richey was born April 29, 1943, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Bill and Pauline Gregory Hightower. She had lived in the community since 1983 and was a homemaker. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed helping raise the grandchildren. Mrs. Richey was a wonderful cook and was an avid fan of the Purple Hurricane football team. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children: Mark & Denise Richey of Warner Robins, Manya R. McMillian of Ben Hill County, Libby R. & Wayne Henderson of Rochelle, Kim Richey of Rochelle and Drew & Melanie Richey of Unadilla; thirteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one brother: Richard Lee Hightower; five sisters: Pearle H. Bales of Beatrice, Nebraska, Roenelle H. Daniel of Musella , Linda Howard, Kay H. Beasley of Oak Park and Charlene H. White of Edgefield, South Carolina. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Edwin Dennis Richey; one brother and two sisters.
