MARY RAK (NIEDZWIEDZKA) JUNE 25, 1928 – JUNE 6, 2014

FALL RIVER…Mary Rak, (Niedzwiedzka) 85, died on Friday June 6, 2014 at St. Anne’s Hospital after a long battle with cancer. She was the spouse of John Rak, (predecease in May 2010) who lived in Somerset, MA. Mary was born in Kedzierowo Poland. She was a POW in Germany at the age of 13, forced to work on a farm to support the German war effort. After the war she went to England where she got married and later moved to the U.S. Mary worked at Chase Curtains for many years as a machine operator. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting as well as her family and friends. Mary was a parishioner at St. Stanislaus church, a member of Senior Citizens Center and other prayer groups.

Mary is survived by her 4 Children: Richard Rak of Cumberland RI., Ted Rak and his wife Vivianne of Townsend MA., Kristine Rak and Janice Rak of Fall River MA., 3 Grandchildren: Lisa Lanni and her husband Fred of Fitchburg MA., Brian Rak and his wife Michelle of Shirley MA., Kevin Rak and his wife Nina of Merrimack NH., 6 Great Grandchildren: Ashley, Rachael, Caroline and Matthew Lanni of Fitchburg, MA., Derek and Alexandra Rak of Shirley MA., several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services to which relatives and friends are invited to will be held Friday at 10 AM at BOYKO MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 709 Broadway, Fall River MA. Followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11AM at St. Stanislaus Church, Rockland St. Fall River. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5 – 8 PM.
