Obituary

Anna T. (Mastascusa) D' Amico, age 99, died Monday, June 9, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Montpelier, VT and was the devoted daughter to the late Maria (Iorio) & Domenic Mastascusa, who emigrated from Italy. They moved to Medford, MA when she was very young and that is where she spent most of her life. She was one of 5 loving children.

Anna graduated from Medford High School, class of 1932. Her yearbook quote was "And she danced and sang her way through life". She worked for Mystic Bakery in Medford, for many years where she enjoyed the interaction with the patrons. In the mid 1930 she married the love of her life, Michael "George" D'Amico. She began her work as a forelady for Vogue dolls, where she would so later retire. She was a very hard worker and instilled a strong work ethic in her family.

She had one child, Joseph M. D'Amico of Dracut (formerly of Tewksbury & Medford), who she was very proud of. Devoted grandmother to Lisa D'Amico, Maria D'Amico Sampson, and Joseph D'Amico. Loving great grandmother of Jacquelyn, Joseph, Anthony, Alexandria, Julia, Anna and Susanna. Further survived by her loving great great granddaughter Gracie. She was the loving sister of her brother Albert Mastascusa of Medford, who she was very close to, and the late Michael Mastascusa, Rose Meloni, and Millie Valeriani. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. She had seen more than most. She was present for all three grandchildren's' weddings and watched them raise their families. She was able to hold the newest member of the family, her great great granddaughter Gracie. She had a great sense of humor.

Her legacy will live on in her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great granddaughter.
She didn't have much possession, but she was rich with love and dedication for her family.
