Belmont---Gertrude E. “Trudy” Jordan, 76, of 12 Cherry Street, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Sunday, June 8, 2014.
Mrs. Jordan was born July 19, 1937 in Laconia, N.H, the daughter of the late Joseph and Doris (Wilson) Fowler. She was a lifelong resident of the Laconia/Belmont area and had been a resident of the Belknap County Nursing Home for a brief period of time. She had been employed as a LNA since 1968, working at the Lakes Region General Hospital and various nursing homes. She retired in 1992.
Mrs. Jordan was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Red Hatters and was crafty. She enjoyed playing Mrs. Santa at Church and at Golden View Health Care Center and loved to give hugs.
Mrs. Jordan is survived by two daughters, Wendy Lindsey of Belmont and Joanne Benoit and her husband, Mark, of Meredith; two grandchildren, Heidi Kimball of Gilmanton and Sean Kimball of Laconia; a step granddaughter, Haillie Bessonnett, of Meredith; one great granddaughter, Emily Roberts, of Gilmanton and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jordan was predeceased by her husband of fifty-five years, C. Cecile Jordan, on November 24, 2012, by four sisters and by a son-in-law, James Lindsey, in 2006.
Calling hours will be held from 5:00PM-6:00PM on Friday, June 13, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church, 18 Wesley Way (Rte. 11A) Gilford, N.H.
A Funeral Service will follow the calling hours at 6:00PM also at the Church. Rev. Thomas M. Getchell-Lacey, Pastor of the church, will officiate.
Burial Services will be private.
